Meet Joanne

Hey there, I’m Joanne, the proud founder of The Real Girls Movement. Over a decade ago, I found myself at a crossroads—juggling the demands of work, family, and my own health. Like many of you, I had tried every quick fix and fad diet out there, only to find myself back at square one, feeling frustrated and defeated.

But instead of giving up, I decided to to take action and prioritise my health and well-being. In 2015, I launched The Real Girls Movement with a simple yet powerful mission: to empower women over 40 to take control of their health, embrace their strength, and live life on their own terms.

What started as a humble mobile fitness business in 2015 quickly grew into something much bigger and expanded to online coaching services and Zoom fitness sessions during the COVID lockdown. In 2022, I decided to leave my academic career behind and commit full-time to my passion by opening a fitness studio in Wodonga, providing a welcoming “home” for my local clients to sweat, laugh, and grow together.

But my journey didn’t stop there. Over the years, I’ve continued to evolve and expand The Real Girls Movement, fine-tuning my approach and adding new services to better serve the Real Girls community.

From personalised menopause coaching to hiking adventures, every offering is designed with one goal in mind: to help you feel strong, confident, and unstoppable—at any age.
