This is a lifestyle commitment. It’s not a diet. It’s not a fitness craze. It’s not fluffy affirmations willing that your life is going to change.

As a busy (40 something 🙂 ) mum, business owner & wife,  I understand how difficult it can be to make your own health and well being a priority. I understand that sometimes our own needs can become lost in the busy-ness of work, family and random life events.

I understand the many obstacles and challenges we face each day, but I truly believe that investing in your own health and well-being is the most important investment you can make.

I GET it! I REALLY do!

9 years ago I was a few months into a new ‘health kick’ after several years of putting everything else first before me. Work, family, ‘stuff’. 

I had finally come to the realisation that there are no short cuts – there is no magic pill –  I needed to do the work & prioritise ME!

It wasn’t easy – but it was getting easier.

It took time for me to finally realise that while exercise is a crucial part of the puzzle – I needed to change my mindset and my eating habits as well.

I learned to eat to nourish and support my soul – not to deprive myself.

I learned to exercise to reward and honour my body – not to punish it. 

I learned to say no to the things that no longer served me. 

But the biggest lesson of all was that I learned to strive for progress not perfection – imperfect action trumps perfect inaction every.single.time.

50When I made that mindset shift – that’s when everything changed.

Again it wasn’t easy, but it got easier. I got results, and I have never looked back.

Healthy feels incredible. Eating well, moving well, living well.

I can honestly say that I am fitter, stronger and healthier now in my 40s than I was in my 20s & 30s.

A healthy life is not about 6 packs and bikinis. It’s about self-acceptance, self-confidence & self-care.

When I realised that it was that shift in mindset that made all the difference, that’s when I decided that I REALLY wanted to help women like me (and you) make that shift too.

Frustrated by the smoke and mirrors and glossy facade of the weight loss & fitness industries I have studied far and beyond my fitness certifications.  I am a women’s health & fitness coach – specialising in all chapters of life – from pre-natal care through to menopause. 

I am committed to helping you realise that you have 30.. 40..50..  years in front of you…. to ensure that your life becomes bigger, brighter, bolder and more fulfilling… to give you the courage to get real about what’s most important to you and help bring it to life.

90 minute Strategy call.

In depth session to get to know you and discover your vision.  During this 90 minute session we will map out your goals and priorities for the first 89 days.

Together we will design a lifestyle recalibration that makes sense for YOU.  We will discuss your goals, your likes and dislikes as it relates to lifestyle, fitness and nutrition and create a game plan that is made for YOU to succeed.  We will use this to set your weekly strategies and provide the resources you need to help you achieve your goals.


Personalised Nutrition Coaching

No rules. No restrictions. Just good habits for life.  No need to struggle on your own any longer.

I’ll provide you with daily support, guidance and accountability, every step of the way, no matter what life throws at you. We’re in this together.  

Most people who try to change their diet overload themselves and burn out quickly.  Instead, I’ll help you focus on the small practices that lead to big results.

Mentoring & Guidance

Monthly 1:1 calls . 

Monthly 45 minute – one-on-one coaching calls with me, your personal coach- to discuss your goals, progress and challenges at the end of month 1 and month 2..

We ensure that you have that clear vision and the actions that you are taking with your mindset, nutrition, movement & outlook is aligned with the woman that you are committed to becoming.

We develop actions and strategies to overcome any obstacles and challenges you may be experiencing.

Everyone’s life and experiences are different – these strategies and actions are personalised for YOU.

Weekly 1:1 accountability

Through your nutrition coaching and workouts we will be in regular contact each week. I am here for you to provide guidance and support and troubleshoot along the way.

Weekly accountability through our private Facebook group will also help ensure you stay focused and on track.


Fortnightly Office Hours & Masterclasses

Your personal Recalibration is pursued in good company. 

I’m here to guide and mentor you every step of the way through your own recalibration.

We meet together fortnightly, with other Real Girls that are recalibrating, and we discuss the things that are most important to keep you on task.

We may cover fundamental topics such as pelvic floor & hot flashes through to inspiring topics such as the adventure of travel that you’ve always dreamt of.

The Private Facebook Group where all active Real Girls who are Recalibrating gather, and where you are encouraged to connect and share ideas and celebrate your successes as well as ask for help whenever you need it.

“The photo on the left was taken just after I had completed Jo’s “Ditch the junk” challenge in January 2018. I had lost a couple of kilos & feeling pretty happy with myself….

When I looked at this photo I was devastated, because the message it gave to me was that even though I thought I had made a good start, there was absolutely no visible evidence of it at all.

My usual reaction to feeling like this would be to say.. bugger it, I will give up because it’s not working.

But this time was different.

The photo on the left motivated me to keep going with the changes I had been making to my lifestyle. It motivated me to continue to remove the junk from my diet & instead nourish myself with wholesome real food & it motivated me to continue exercising (which I was enjoying more & more with each session).

This week (Jan 2019) I found my skirt from this time last year in the uniform cupboard & thought it would be fun to try it on. One of my colleagues took a photo & it wasn’t until a couple of days later when she was showing someone else, that I looked at it. And, I was amazed!

It was like I was seeing me for the first time. I found it hard to believe that I was literally squished into that skirt just one year ago.

I thought about all the other things I had done over the past year, events that in the past would have been enough to ‘fall off’ & stay off the ‘band wagon’, holidays, weddings, birthdays, falling off my bike, none of those things stopped or reversed what I was doing.

Eating a well balanced diet, that includes treats & enjoying lots of different exercises, those 2 things alone is what achieved the changes in my body in a 1 year period. The number of kilos or sizes are irrelevant.

I am so pleased that I started & I am even more pleased that I kept going.

I encourage anyone who is sick & tired of being uncomfortable, lethargic, miserable, self conscious, embarrassed or any other feeling associated to your body size, just give it a go, who knows, this could be you in one single year!

UPDATE: 2020 I actually had a reminder pop up on Facebook from 8 years ago – , something to do with weight loss & my thought was oh gosh what a merry go round of weight loss / gain my life has been.

Then your video came up & reminded me of all the valuable lessons you have taught me over the last few years.

I was overwhelmed on how to improve my overall health….that is when I found Jo from Real Girls.

We looked at my goals so I could improve my health with long term sustainability in mind. We started with small goals for my nutrition like eating 1/2 plate of vegetables at each meal. Mindfully choosing what I was going to eat and how much.

My first goal with exercise was just starting to exercise again, with  2 group sessions a week to start. I then slowly increased what I did as I was able.

We focused on changing my old mind set –  like no longer letting the number on the scale define younow its more how I feel and the way my clothes fit. My mindset towards exercise was about adjusting to what I can do now not comparing myself to what I once did when I was a much younger version of myself….oh… it’s ok to be kind yourself and do what you can today!
