Trying new things, or rediscovering activities we onced loved can feel challenging as we get older. We worry whether we can still do the things we used to do, or are fit and strong enough to try new things.

Hike Fit is about empowering women to discover the spectacular alpine and expedition trails surrounding Albury / Wodonga whilst building confidence, fitness and participation in hiking on our local trails, with my full support.
What is Hike Fit?
Hike Fit is a comprehensive membership that provides a structured strength and fitness program as well as guided hiking opportunities that will connect you with a wonderful community of like minded women.
Providing you with the skills you need to be physically active and tackle your next hiking adventure.
As a Hike Fit member you will have exclusive access to our full day hikes on some of Australia’s most significant trails throughout the year.

2023 full day hiking weekends
8th May – 28th July 2023 – CLOSED
Day Hike – 29th July – Hume and Hovell Track – Henry Angel Track Head to Mannus Lake + Big Hill – approx 20km. (*date pending winter track conditions).
Henry Angel Trackhead to Mannus Lake via Big Hill - Day hike description
This 12 week program will prepare you for our next day hiking adventure, which will be approximately 20km along the historic Hume and Hovell expedition track – starting near Tumbarumba.
Henry Angel Trackhead to Mannus Lake via Big Hill
This is a long but beautiful walk along the Burra Creek down to the Tumbarumba Creek valley before climbing Mannus ridge through Bogandyera Nature Reserve and descending down to Mannus Lake.
It is historically very significant, for both the gold mining evidence along Burra Creek and because the explorers, Hume and Hovell, followed this same route and first viewed the Snowy Mountains from Big Hill.

Diamantina Hut to Mt Feathertop and Harrietville - Day hike description
This is one of the best alpine walks in Victoria with fantastic views over the Alpine National Park. 150m climb en-route plus 200m climb to summit.
This is a long walk – 19km + 3km for walk to summit Mt Feathertop, Victoria’s second highest mountain.
The trail commences near Diamantina hut, near the Mount Hotham ski resort and follows The Razorback, a high narrow ridge, but otherwise surrounded by steep slopes which continue right to the summit.
Near Federation Hut the track leads off to the summit. It is a 200m climb all of which is above the tree line.
Mt Feathertop is one of the most picturesque and most appealing peak in the Victoria high country. The view from the top is spectacular and extends for 360 degrees. What makes it special is that it is different in every direction.
Unlike most nearby mountains, Mount Feathertop has steep slopes right to the top and does not have the rounded summit dome that is typical of many nearby peaks.
We will return to Harrietville via Bungalow Spur which follows an old bridle track that is perfectly graded and makes for easy walking.
Whilst mostly a grade 3-4 track, some of the ascents (such as the final pinch to Mt Feathertop) are steep, with uneven and broken, rocky terrain..
8-11 March 2024 – Kosciusko national park
Saturday – Summit Mount Kosciusko via the Main Range Walk – Approx 23km
Sunday – Start the day with a recovery and stretching session before heading out to explore short trails in Kosciusko National Park followed by some local sightseeing.
Monday – Start the day with a recovery and stretching session before heading home.

Mount Kosciuszko - Main Range walk - Day Hike description
This hike is located in the Alpine region of Kosciuszko national Park.
You will tackle the challenging Main Range walk, which takes in glacial lakes, historic huts, and the summit of Mount Kosciuszko.
This trek will see you following marked and well-formed trails, climbing to the top of some of Australia’s highest peaks and no.1 highest, Mount Kosciuszko.
The hike will start at Charlotte Pass car park and head along the Main Range Track stopping in at Blue Lake before making the climb up to Carruthers Peak.
Catch your breath as you travel along the mostly flat section until you make your final ascent to Mount Kosciuszko. After this you will return to the Charlotte Pass carpark along an easy open trail.
Participants will be required to traverse some moderate to steep inclines and descents that can be constant over some long distances.
This is classed as a a Grade 4 hike and is approximately 23km taking roughly 8-9 hours
If you would like to improve your hiking fitness but are unable to join us for the final full day hike – you are still welcome to join this program
Full day hike costs (e.g. transport, accommodation, food) are not included.
*Maximum of 12 participants per intake.
