Winter Wellness Challenge Day 19 – Make exercise a priority

Today your challenge is to consider how much you currently exercise – and how much you need to exercise to maintain good health.

In order to ensure our health and wellbeing, being active and limiting how much time we are sedentary is essential.

Day 19 - Make exercise a priority

Australian guidelines recommend:

  • Being active on most days of the week
  • Undertaking muscle strengthening activities on at least 2 days each week
  • Accumulating 2 ½ to 5 hours of moderate intensity physical activity each week; and advise that doing some activity is better than none. If you currently do no physical activity, start by doing some, and gradually build up to the recommended amount.

The guidelines also recommend that we limit the amount of prolonged sitting and break them up as often as possible.

These recommendations are just to ensure a basic level of health for the general population.

Are you meeting these basic guidelines?

If not and you’d like some ideas or personalised advice – give me a call or message me to discuss further.

In the mean time – remember “some activity is better than none” – so get up and move!
