Winter Wellness Challenge Day 17 – Be grateful

Today your challenge is to write a list of 5 things you are grateful for.

Day 18 - Be grateful

Even when life seems to give us lemons there are many reasons to be grateful. As the saying goes, we should ‘count our blessings’, even if it is sometimes difficult to do. Expressing our gratitude on a regular basis can improve our moods and overall level of happiness and health. Expressing that appreciation to others will do so even more.

Researchers have found that those who exhibit and express the most gratitude are happier, healthier, and more energetic. Grateful people also report fewer symptoms such as headaches, stomach aches, nausea and spend more time exercising. Also, the more a person is inclined towards gratitude, the less lonely, stressed, anxious and depressed he or she will be.

So today your challenge is to reflect on your life and what you have to be grateful for, and write down five things. I am sure if you think hard enough you will be able to think of even more.

For bonus points today, tell someone how much you appreciate them, and how grateful you are to have them in your life.
